Version 1.4 is out, now multiplayer!

Dear nightlanders,
many beautiful things have happened recently: video reviews of Retro Recipes and Mille e una Avventura, reviews in print and digital magazines like Komoda & Amiga Plus or RetroMagazine (also available in English), the physical release sold-out, unboxing and so on!

Although it may not immediately catch the eye, The Nightland is composed (or rather "broken down") by separate elements: the "sound" of the dungeonsynth music album by HDK, the "graphics" hand-drawn on the paper board, the "controls" with pawns and die and the "narration" assigned to the electronic brain of the computer. The game is purposely designed as a hiatus, an "experiment" to let the player's imagination to tie everything together (the board could have been on-screen, and the die roll a random number 1 to 6 "pulled out" by the CPU, but that's not what I wanted to achieve).

So I really LOVE reading your comments as you play solo, or with friends and family, printing the board, choosing your pawns, interpreting and completing the game with your new rules, stories and so on... a kind of "recipe" (indeed!) for your imagination that would not have been the same if everything had been digital, or on-screen.

I received a lot of feedback and to celebrate this (unexpected) success I just released an updated version of the game - 1.4 - which includes, in addition to some text (thank you Katie!) and gameplay refinements, the beautiful loader picture by Federico and a multiplayer (human vs human) mode, leaving always the CPU to manage the dangerous creatures of the land.

Grazie mille a tutti Voi, and if you enjoyed the game (casual and unpredictable as it is) please spread the word! ;)
